Holland Hospital uses Student Manager for all three areas of their programming - internal staff training (which encompasses several thousand CPR certifications), community classes and special speakers. Each segment of the program has unique needs, all of which are met by Student Manager.

"We could not have hired someone to handle all the CPR registrations" says Janet Rininger, Health Promotion Specialist at the Center for Good Health at Holland Hospital. "There wasn't enough money and this was a perfect solution!"

"We set up ACEweb, tweaked the templates, restricted access to only our employees and it runs on its own. It's phenomenal!"

"If we didn't use ACEweb for our internal employee trainings our phone would be so busy that community members would never get through. It saves us a lot of time and money."

Employees register for courses online and Rininger notices a general increase in online community registrations as well. "It's increased each quarter."

"We encourage the website" says Rininger. "We list it in the catalog and advertise it on our voicemail.

Holland is running the Email Module and according to Rininger they "Just love it!". We've had a few snags due to hospital security on our end, but it's wonderful for sending passwords to participants, sending CPR class reminders or sending rosters to instructors."

But of all the parts of Student Manager Holland likes, their favorite, hands down, is the financial reporting. "We submit 13 different reports to our financial department every month. We've customized some of the existing reports and created a few special reports. Student Manager is able to keep it all straight, presenting all the data in a logical fashion. It has taken a monumental task and cut it down to size."

Rininger says Student Manager plays another important role in their department.

"When someone requests a catalog on the website, and then calls to register they are impressed that we know about the catalog request. Furthermore the information on the web is accurate and matches the details in the catalog. That it's all linked together makes us look organized."

Approximately 18,500 names are stored in Student Manager. Holland also uses the Email Module and ACEweb. 5,000 registrations are recorded annually and that number shows an increase every year.

Programs

Professional certification classes as well as community non-credit health and wellness classes. Topics range from nursing in-service courses and CPR on the professional side, to childbirth, cooking, calming the colicky infant and asthma management offered to the community.
