The Metropolitan College at the University of New Orleans carries the title ‘Division of Academic Extension’, and extend they do. Credit, non-credit, international studies, personal development, lifestyle, leisure, freshman success, academic prep and contracting, the 100 DAE employees and Student Manager manage it all.

“Student Manager can be customized to handle most anything” says Brian McDonald, Information Technology Coordinator. “When I do have to call with questions they know me and understand our programs.”

With a little help from ACEware, and a backup just before Hurricane Katrina, the Metropolitan College was back up and moving days after the horrific storm. Classes were re-worked, and as quickly as the plan came together, the information was available on the web. Thousands of customer records and venue details have been updated promptly and efficiently as people and conferences return to New Orleans.

Says McDonald, “All we have to do is make certain the information is accurate and it flows seamlessly to the web.”

Programs are available at five sites (two university facilities and three venues shared with the public schools). In addition, the Lindy C Boggs International Conference Center comfortably accommodates up to 300 participants for workshops, conferences, luncheons, and receptions. Off-campus conference services are also available.
