The Institute of Government is an affiliate of the John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government, and part of the College of Health and Public Affairs. Established by state statute in 1982 the Institute of Government at the University of Central Florida is one of five IOG's in Florida. Their mission is to provide training and technical assistance to local governments, state agencies, and nonprofit organizations. This is accomplished at UCF's IOG with approximately 275 annual programs that attract 3,500 participants annually.

Although the IOG has partnered with ACEware since 1996, Michelle Gardner was not involved with the purchasing decision. "I have been with the Institute of Government since November 2006."

"My predecessor wasn't as interested in statistical information. But I saw right away an opportunity to move from hand-assembled reports to a more automated method. I've customized some reports, but some of the more sophisticated tweaks are beyond me. For those I call Daniel and he makes it happen."

Gardner continues: "Although we are a fee-supported program we do receive state grant money. Quarterly we are accountable for how that money is spent. We also need to know how the money was spent, how many participants attended the events, and how many contact hours were accumulated. That's a lot of reporting!"

"We also use F2 a lot! It's immediate information and is perfect for ordering the catering or knowing when we need a larger meeting space."

Gardner has one item on her Student Manager wish list: "ACEweb! It would make a huge difference and we'd like to purchase it very soon."
