Leisure Learning Unlimited and ACEware have history. A Student Manager partner since 1993 and a driving force behind many of the software innovations, Leisure Learning was the first beta test site for SDC. And, with 500 courses per term and over 25,000 registrations annually, it was quite a test. Today Leisure Learning relies on SDC for everything from catalog development, to online registrations and facilities management. Says Steve Lierman, System Administrator at LLU, "SCD & SDC web has allowed a reduction in staff from 10 full time office employees to 4 full time and two part time employees. Approximately 45% of our registrations arrive via the web, and that number grows daily. In addition, SDC saves about 500 hours a year in catalog development time." Leisure Learning relies on the rental of local facilities for classroom space, which are offered across the Houston metropolitan area. One pleasant surprise after implementing SDC was a 20% reduction in classroom rental space. "Tracking room use manually was cumbersome and inefficient and we were pleased with the results" says Lierman. "Probably the best part of dealing with ACEware is their outstanding technical support team. Our contact at ACEware would be any organization's dream employee. ACEware really has a grasp on the fact that there are tremendous differences in the requirements that each Continuing Education program has." |
